Cellular telephone service was offered to the public in 1986 as an extension of the Territory-wide telephone system. All existing tariff provisions for the telephone service in American Samoa apply. Customer furnished equipment is programmed and activated at the rates described below. Class of Service (COS) features are determined at the time of activation and service order preparation.   Service Activation and Registration   $25.00 Monthly Charge  $15.00 Usage Charge  $0.10/minute Security Deposit for Local Service Only   $25.00 Security Deposit for Local and Overseas Service for New Customers  $75.00                                                                         Note: Usage charge is billed to the customer initiating the call. Prefix for the cellular system is 733. Roaming cellular service is not available at this time. Customers with current telephone accounts and security deposits on file can "pilot" their cellular telephone to their active account.
