The Rainmaker Hotel as seen from the trameway/Mount Alava.

Unlike many island resort locations in the South Pacific, American Samoa has strived to manage its resources and maintain its scenic beauty in the most pristine condition possible. Zoning is very strictly enforced, and tall high rise hotels and condominium buildings have not been permitted to be built on the waterfront. Thus it is that we have spectacular views from nearly any vantage point on the island. Construction is kept within the boundaries of decorum and local traditional style that makes it truly a Samoan experience and local flavor to stay in our hotels. This is especially the case for our largest hotel, called the Rainmaker hotel for its incredible view of Rainmaker mountain across Pago Harbor. The hotel has 60 rooms and is built only two stories high. Bungalows on the water are available, as well as a private beach, large swimming pool, and dining facilities. The buildings are all built in traditional fale style (Samoan style of house) with thatched roofing and open terraces that allow the tropical breezes to flow gently through the whole complex.
